Back after the holidays
The machines have got some well deserved rest for several summer weeks and will now be restarted (just like yourself!). I have listed five things that are good to consider before the start of the season.
1. Central system
If you have a central system where several machines have their own small sumps, check all machines for bacteria and mold before starting the central system. If there is a failure in one machine it can contaminate all and disturb the production of the autumn.
2. Check all devices
Check if some fluid have been left in chip cans, oil separator or collection container with return pump to the process fluid sump. Even here, as a consequence, the entire machine sump may be replaced if you pump contaminated liquid.
3. Service during the summer?
Take a look inside the machines also if fitters or lubricants have done work in the summer. Rags are murky for bacteria.
4. New machine
If you install a new machine, it may be worth checking that it does not have old fluid from a previous test or has a layer of anti-corrosion coating that contaminates.
5. Fill up your knowledge store
Do you have some extra time before the autumn's production starts seriously? Take the opportunity to increase your own capacity to handle bacterial outbreak this fall.
